something needs to be done with these eles!
anyone else notice the surplus or elementalists in pvp? also, every other person in ab uses the searing flame/glowing glaze build!!! its WAY too overpowered if you ask me and soemthing needs to be done about it. it used to be elementalists ran away from warriors or assassins, now THEY are the ones that charge in after the warriors and sins with their searing flames.
not only that but another new skill "blinding surge" is also way overpowered. was blinding flash not powerful enough? now we can have blinding, alot of damage and a quick recharge time too? im sure anyone that does pvp, have came across one of these two cheap-o builds....

Yeah, god forbid the original damage class does whats expected of it, lets nerf ether prodigy again while were at it, or hell, any other elite eles use, its got to be overpowered.
Really, if you get beaten with these builds, bring a counter.

Welcome to Build Wars.
Someone invents a powerful, easy-to-run build *cough IWAY* which makes its way on to the internet then other people copy it.
Searing Flames and Thumpers are rampant because you bash your buttons and win and I bet, somewhere in this thread, somene will say "omg lern 2 counter".

So, how is it a bad thing that people are using Elementalists again?

Every other team in HA in searingway, isn't that enough proof?
-
Bring counters?
So you want us to bring specific counters only viable against this one type of group? Like mantra of flame?
No thank you.

You know... it's funny.
In every single manual, the elementalists were proclaimed as THE damage dealing class. The funny thing is, they never were. Their damage was measly at best and all you'd ever see an elementalist do with some success is run away, soak up a teamspot and fuel secondary skills with Ether Prodigy (and Ether Renewal while it was of use).
Everytime someone invents a build that can do a bit of what this very fragile class is supposed to do, people start to scream "nerf, nerf, nerf!". And sadly after a while, A-Net listens to those whiney little ****** and nerfs the Elementalists some more. Elementalists are looking back at a history of nerfs while they were never too powerful to start with when they were playing as a primary (pre-release not taken into consideration).
They were hit hard. REAAAAL hard.
Now came Nightfall and introduced skills like Sandstorm and Searing Flames. Elementalists now actually do what they're supposed to do, they do damage. A-net for once followed the call of the community in these parts. Don't you remember the countless threads and complains about elementalists being UNDERpowered?
Now they got a toy that works. And now people want to kick them in the nuts and blow them right back into the "meh, go play secondary gas station" realm.
No. Searing Flames is not overpowered.
It's just that the other spells in comparison are ridiculously weak.
So what is the matter here? Did people get too used to just bash the elementalists into the ground that the sudden resistance is sooo disturbing that they cry out for nerfs? Get real, Elementalists are squishies for a reason. This reason is (supposed to be, according to the manual and various in game texts) fire power. Take away power and you've got no justification for their squishy armor.

Oh dearie dearie me..........
Suddenly eles can do real damage and sustained pressure after around a year of being relegated to utility heal/flag running/occasional snares.
Next up, flying pigs, four dodgy looking horsemen and plagues of frogs.
It's the end of the world.....at least for players with no imagination
P.S. I'm an ele
P.P.S.
Backfire, Power Drain, CoF, Power Spike, Mantra of Flame, Guilt, Power Block, etc, etc etc.....

Yep. Bring Kiting. THIS (kiting) skill should be nerfed, just because it's so fricking imba. And while you're at it, nerf Positioning [E]. It's imba too.
___
Besides i find it highly ironic that you on one hand complain about every other team having searing flames and then go ahead and state that you refuse to counter it. Feeling a little schizophrenic there?

D:, really though, why nerf a class again when it finally gets something that rivals a warriors damage? They still have paper thin armor, so outright I would think a decent warrior could defeat one.
I mean, for warriors, a counter for both flash and flames is plague touch.
Mesmers can wreak havoc on them with diversion, enchant stips, etc.
So can Necromancers.
With my Assassin its pretty simple just to kill them outright. If they still target you, Deadly Paradox+Feigned neutrality ftw.
Rangers might not want to use plague touch, but they can use remedy signet.
Monks can counter the high damage with prot spirit, and can deal with the conditions like no other.
Should I add anything else?

God why don't we just nerf EVERY skill to 'Do +10 damage to opponent' or 'Heal for 10 points'.
Geez elementalists FINALLY are useful now, they can finally do something better than another class - damage dealing. For the rest, they still have weak armor and poor heal spells. And you wanna nerf them?

I'd like to see someone consistantly counter a 1 second casting spell. (and since any Ele with a clue will be using a 20/20 set with Searing Flames, that's often less.).
Anyways, the best way to fix Searing Flames would be to increase it to a 2 second cast. That would be fair.

Searingway is abit overpowered if you run into a group of 3 eles using it... kiting does help but if you got three AOE with burning kinda hard to kite away from that if your warriors and such need to run into the eles to actually do the damage.
One counter that I used that works slightly is to use Paragon Cautery Signet as soon as the burning is inflicted. Just keep a note I said it works slightly your mileage may vary. Especially if you run this build and use Paragons flame abilities too
Where are all the Dom Mesmers?

I'd like to see a good interrupter reliable FAIL at countering a 1 sec spell O_o; If you know they're spamming it, it's not hard at all.

God, please don't pull attention to my mesmers, then people will start using only them and then people will start complainning and maybe anet will listen
By the way, leave the els alone (and to those say bring counters, not all people/classes can bring counters). It's about time that you no longer have to only worry about the mesmers in pvp. Gasp, nukers nuking, what ever shall we do?
I aggree with Jaymat, those monks need a nerf. They keep healing my targets, and this is getting annoying

Quite possible when i've got that specific enemy as my target when he starts casting. And i don't have some sort of uber reflexes, just a good internet connection.

Oh for crying out loud, get a life and learn how to counter something. Adapt. I am so tired or you PvP cry babies, getting things nerfed for the PvE players. I had to stop using my ele it got so bad, it's not bad enough they got the worst armor in the game.
